You’d be surprised what goes on in your yard when you aren’t looking! Yes, got a few birds this winter. I send the snapshots to Google lens for identification instead of paying for what I hear is terrible bird identification. We didn’t t try that. And yes, a squirrel found the feeder and he tried to get stuff out of the top and bottom. He probably gets a little, but moves on. Often I have video of his tail, which to me means he’s not eating much if anything and is moving on. In winter, perhaps the feeder is a good place for them to get food, but I expect when it’s warmer, traditional source will be easier and they’ll tend to leave the feeder alone.I was surprised that the deer like this. They almost visit nightly and at first couldn’t figure out how to get anything meaningful from the feeder like the squirrels. So it remained pretty full. However, the deer began to knock it (I have it on a relatively low pole in the ground.Currently I just leave the seed level low, since it’s winter and the deer and squirrels can’t get anything meaningful out of it. But at some point I want to fill it up and see what happens with my clear plastic seal idea. The only complaint I have other than the need for a gasket to prevent seed from falling through where the glass and camera meet is that I have been unable to record the video when playing from the SD card. Snapshots to my iPhone work fine. But videos always give me an error. Videos and images from the free cloud service also work. But the SD card videos would be much longer. I wrote feedback within the app. We’ll see if they can resolve it for me.
